The client set out to run a dental practice’s appointments, patient records, diagnostics, billing, and virtual consultations in one secure system. We designed and built the full platform: four connected applications covering both sides of the chair.

The challenge
Practice software tends to arrive in pieces: one tool for booking, another for charts, another for billing, and a separate product for virtual visits. Every handoff between them is a place where data gets re-keyed or a slot gets booked twice.
The client wanted a single platform that took a patient from intake through booking, chairside charting, and billing on one record, for patients and clinicians alike.
What we built
- Patient app and patient portal for intake, booking, records, and virtual consultations.
- Clinician app and clinician portal for schedules, chairside charting, and diagnostics.
- AI-driven intake that feeds the same patient record clinicians chart against.
- Integrated EMR/EHR and digital diagnostics in one secure system.
- Scheduling built on distributed locks, so two booking attempts can never claim the same slot.
- Billing and virtual consultation flows on the same record.
How we delivered it
We designed and developed the full platform. The central design decision was one patient record shared by all four applications, so intake, charting, and billing never drift apart.
Booking was built around distributed locks from the start: double-bookings are prevented by design rather than caught and corrected afterward. The portals run on Next.js and React over a Node.js backend, and the mobile apps ship to iOS and Android with React Native.
The outcome
The platform is live. Patients and clinicians work from one record across four connected applications, and the schedule cannot double-book a slot.
