Vocational analysis built to hold up under cross-examination.

Legal and vocational professionals needed analysis that stands up to formal review. We built a data platform that cross-references a person’s physical capacities against government occupational and employment datasets, with an audit trail that cites the exact source data inline.

The challenge

Vocational analysis sits where regulation, data, and litigation meet. Professionals assess how a person’s physical capacities affect the work available to them, using government occupational and employment data, and then have to defend that analysis under cross-examination.

The client needed complex government regulations and datasets translated into a secure, scalable system whose results could be traced back to their source.

What we built

  • A three-step workflow built around a residual functional capacity checklist, where users define physical capacities.
  • Government dataset integration, cross-referencing those capacities against occupational and employment data.
  • Real-time job-impact calculations at national, state, and local level.
  • An audit trail that cites the exact source data inline, so each result can be traced and defended.
  • Subscription billing powered by Stripe.

How we delivered it

We translated the regulations and data into a precise workflow first, then built the system around it. Each step records the source data it draws on, so the audit trail is part of the product rather than a report assembled after the fact.

The platform runs on Node.js and Next.js with PostgreSQL and Redis, deployed on AWS, with Stripe handling subscriptions.

The outcome

The platform is live as a subscription product for legal and vocational professionals. Job-impact calculations run in real time, and results cite their source data inline, which is what lets the analysis hold up in formal review.
